28 September

As summer faded into autumn glow
I felt the door close on the days before
When I turned my back on all that I know
Released and free, a prisoner no more
I watched as years simply faded away
The hurt of living trapped inside of me
I opened my eyes to see I can be
As today, this day is another day
I want to dance into the dark of night
I want to kiss you as I hold your hand
Instead I whisper “I’m good, it’s all right”
When I turned my back on all that I know
As summer faded into autumn glow
Now fate must play the destiny she planned
With you, my love, forever in my sight.

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
