Surreal Reality

The Poets' Garret

The Poets’ Garret

Today began inside a mist
My thoughts they seem the same
Just out of focus and surreal
As pride outwits the shame
So long upon a waiting list
With ev’ry day the same
And now at last I truly feel
I live up to the name

And through the mist the sun broke in
So I could see the light
The tunnel coming to its end
Like morning after night
Too long I thought my life was sin
My being never right
No longer must I thus pretend
The future now in sight

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
