Now Is the Time

An army for peace gathered in a field
The dreams of youth a magnificent shield
With bass rhythms rocking into the night
And loud music drowned out the sirens’ wail
For the boys in blue had come for a fight
Now those teenage dreams lay shattered and gone
Words of peace replaced by another war
As the human world is now left in dun
Is there any hope left worth fighting for?
We see children dying as they set sail
To escape all that the mighty have done
Where is the hope we once held in our sight
And what of the dreams we once held in awe
The time has come to let the world be healed

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
