Integrity for Sale

As I opened my door your eyes met mine
Instantly flashing the soul for sale sign
Anything promised all you want – my vote
You have all the answers as if divine

But your words are empty and this I know
But how to politely tell you that’s so
And I know a wolf who wears a sheep’s coat
So I say few words nothing more than NO

You gave my country no hope and no care
With nowt to give because there’s none to share
Please do not think I have not taken note
For when you call again if you so dare

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
