Blade of the Bards

Distant

echoes call out my name

shadows

of reputation silenced by intent
and words mean

nothing
kindness

cast out into the

darkness

with nowhere to go
and no one to turn to

but words are the blade

sharpened on the steel of experience
and the poet a warrior

ready to kill
for his is the sword
forged in history

and the wisdom of bards
the clear vision of his mind

as he fights for the future

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
