Underneath the Arc

They seek the pot of gold at rainbow’s end
Rewards of money filling empty hearts
The high fashion world of appearing smart
Of make believe and don’t we all pretend
All that matters is increasing our wealth
There’s no time for love or caring for health
Nobody smiles for there’s no sense of joy
When money dictates the rules we employ
Yet beneath the arc made of vibrant hues
The wonder of love found its dwelling place
A gentle smile upon a lover’s face
There is all to gain and nothing to lose
Under the rainbow where you and I stay
And, you know, I kind of like it that way

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
