Then and Now

A pebble in my hand when I need
To feel safe with both my feet
Upon the ground; when thoughts intercede
A darker times come to meet
The inner eye of instinct and sight
And I see the past rush by
And I long to feel the sweet delight
Of summer’s breeze in a sigh
In those times I’m always alone
Yet you are sat beside me
We hold hands in another time zone
So I can fight back to be
With you, my love, in the here and now
Not alone in way back then
I don’t know why and sure don’t know how
But with you I found my Zen

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
