Political Slick

A click declares they have been seen and read
But it is the lie we all know we tell
Terms and conditions we have left unsaid
All that small print where hidden clauses dwell
But we have better things to do instead
As on a click we assume all stays well
And we do the same on a moral view
Believing lies when we know they’re not true
We stay silent as they steal from the sick
As if it is something to be proud of
A hungry child – are we bothered to care
When believing all that political slick
In a hostile world how can we know love
Without seeing all that is really there

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
