Love’s Strength

Since you took my heart I give little heed
For social norms that say I can’t succeed
I found my peace with my love by my side
And now I know I have nothing to prove
Where there are no secrets, what’s left to hide?
Although I question if the ride’s too rough
I don’t doubt the love you have given me
We know the days ahead will be so tough
But beyond that the future’s there to see
For in love we are free to simply be
Because we are strong we can take the ride
In all that’s to come it is you I need
They may cast doubt and they may disapprove
Let them; we know we are more than enough

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
