Let Me Sleep

Oh sweetest sleep that brings to me your kiss
In hazy mist where my thoughts reminisce
On the primal touch when my lips met yours
In that first embrace when my heart was lost
And as I dream thoughts I should not explore
Alone; the same thoughts I so seldom share
As words in verse as they reveal my all
To share such dreams would leave a poet bare
Without a net to catch me in my fall
But as your love so softly now implores
For secrets held within the sleeping bliss
In this desire there is no hidden fare
And making love I feel your passion call
Until the dawn and all my thoughts are lost.

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
