Lust to Love

In youth I sought freedom in acts of lust
No satisfaction found unloved, unjust
When time meant nothing and love even less
And casual sex a meaningless act
Avoiding all the emotional mess
The heart is yearning for that something more
For love that binds to set the lover free
Just like the ocean caressing the shore
Entwined together as the earth and sea
And on that beach to you my love confess
The passionate heart that has learned to trust
And normal thoughts are lost in ways abstract
A poet lost for words, rocked to his core
By the beauty who called his love to be

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
