A Matter of Fate

True love is that most precious find
If we can dare to seek it’s glow
So oft it feels harsh and unkind
As in its grasp we learn to grow

And lesson one is ne’er undone
The hardest one on any chart
It is better to be alone
Than love with only half a heart

For love demands we give our all
To stand tall when wrecked with its pain
As on this path we’re bound to fall
Not once but over and again

We lay ourselves open to fate
A destiny we cannot see
From a first smile on a first date
There are no rules or guarantee

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
