“I never did mind the little things”

~ Maggie (Bridget Fonda) The Assassin: Point of No Return

Her heels clattered on the pavement as I watched from the shadows. My trainers silent on the concrete as I tailed her drunken wobble along the dark empty street.  She stopped; I stopped slipping back into the darkness as she flicked her head from side to side. Had she heard me or felt my presence.

She crossed the road into the dark alley. Her confidence attracted me, drew me in. I did not breathe as she walked past me but I looked into her eyes. The deep blue pools of invitation and her ruby lips moistened by her tongue beckoning me to follow her lead.

At the end of the alley she stopped and turned towards me. “Well, come on then!”

As I joined her I saw a brief glint of silver then nothing more.

Demonic beauty
Intoxicates the mind
And a heart must die

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
