A Shadow Life

Behind closed doors where things cannot be seen
The truth is hidden behind a shy smile
A shadow life in a secret lifestyle
And words hide the facts contained in a gene
Another night crying behind the scene
For truth again burned like a sickly bile
All these secrets is it ever worthwhile
There is no place left in the in-between
The heart has given its all trying to prove
What is and what should have been are the same
But all or nothing is the final move
And now the truth can never carry shame
For living in secret is never right
And it is time to bid all that good-night.

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
