Music of the Soul

I heard a song that took the world away
It left my heart in perfect disarray
I could not tell if it was night or day
No words could touch what I wanted to say
The orchestra held me within its sound
My feet no longer felt the solid ground
Within the music I was surely bound
Yet it was a quiet place I had found
A sacred space devoid of human time
Where visions appeared in a silent mime
To play my senses in a rhythmic rhyme
And as the last note then began to fade
Within a world where none dare to invade
It is in this place that I’ve freely stayed

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
