As primal as the earth is love’s desire
It burns as bright as the moon in the sky
With kisses as sweet as a tuneful lyre
Invading senses that hunger for one
Silencing the voice that begs to know why
Before the words can reach out to the sun
And ask how you could love one such as I
Instead my words speak of my love for you
Inside your eyes a warrior’s shield lies done
Opening his heart to keep his love true
As into your arms he can only run
For now it is better to live than die
And when you showed him what your love can do
It burned as bright as the moon in the sky

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
