Beguiling Solace

Since you, I lost desire for pain and fear
Instead I feel the need to hold you near
It surges freely through my flesh and veins
You took my heart and filled it with your light
So darkness no longer grasps my hand tight
My love you are my flower in full bloom
That lifts my soul from that self-made gloom
As you kissed my cheeks free from tearful stains
And should I doubt the love that comes from you
I hear your voice to gently guide me through
My hand no longer seeks to touch the blade
That once was the solace to all my pains
Because a love like ours can never fade
As we embrace the joys that it contains.

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
