After the Hunt

Walking past sleeping houses at 3 am the silence of night reaches out to embrace me. Only my thoughts disturb my solitude as my feet take me further into the darkness. This is my world, my space and my time. My eyes look out towards the stars as my ears pick up the sound of an owl’s wings taking him back to his home. I wonder if his night beneath the stars was successful as mine.

fresh on the lips
the crimson sweetness lingers
from a vampire’s hunt

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
