Idyllic Bliss

Hand-maidens rest on sandy shore
While washing their feet in the sea
Idyllic bliss who could ask more
Their laughter, a melodic note
The music sung while dancing free
A simple tune that no-one wrote
They wait for gods to come and play
The heroes of the stories told
They come to claim a promised bride
For this will be their wedding day
They’ve won the right to love and hold
The beauty they honoured with pride
Hand-maidens rest on sandy shore
They wait for gods to come and play

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
