Crossed Out

The demon
claiming her sanctuary within fear,
fear fuelled by love
the innocent delusion that conquers all –
does it hell!

Understanding
love leaves innocence to bleed
on a stone cold floor
as the senses recoil
from words of degradation
never questioning
this is love!

Echoes of the mind
challenging the daylight
in a battle of steel blades
the soul in rivalry
breaking the heart one final time
as the whole understands
it can never see beauty whist broken
the beauty that is love.

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
