Inside Darkness

I cast my soul towards dark skies
While the stream reveals its song
Across my hand without disguise
Yet tearful eyes see only wrong
Still bid my heart to stay as strong
To fight the fear, return the pain
And seek the place where I belong
As if returning home again.

Yet while my heart may need to cry
My soul desires the wild and free
To find the dream upon a sigh
To lead me where I need to be
Where night skies reflect on the sea
Inside the darkness I hold near
I find the light that’s meant for me
And there, alone, I face my fear.

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
