And On Towards the Sea

The river flows to where it needs to be
Its waters pay no heed to things we see
As they journey on through country and town
In answer to distant ocean’s wild call
It travels on beyond the city wall
Like you and I answering calls of fate
As hand in hand we walk at our own gait
Not letting words or hate to bring us down
Like the river love must follow its way
Whatever the world has to think or say
This feeling only the heart can know of
Must find its place between the now and then
And lovers become their own piece of Zen
As sailing ships that roam the seas of love

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
