A Good Morning

Before my eyes are fully open
I gaze upon you sleeping
And catch the smile forming
On your lips as I kiss you
I whisper ‘I love you’
As your eyes tighten
To avoid the morning sun
So my fingers tease your hair
And I feel your neck shiver
To the pressure of my lips
My fingers tracing circles
Slowly down your spine
I feel your body waking
As you turn to meet my gaze
And in that moment
As your lips invite my kiss
I am lost in your paradise.

A Good Morning

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
