A Ray of Sunshine

A Ray of Sunshine

A ray of sunshine through grey winter skies
To gently glisten where a raindrop lies
And today wears a different disguise
Yet all I see is your dark mystic eyes
The thoughts are wild in a world so surreal
Where barriers fall with all to reveal
The truth hidden behind the walls of steel
That surround senses I had to conceal
While walking home through the cold winds and rain,
Through the wet streets and a dreary back-lane
With a distracted mind that feels no pain
But can feel blood pumping within my vein
I already know that this is for real
I just need to know how you think and feel.

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
