Weary Desire

Weary Desire

The flicker of dark lashes
close calling the mystery of dreams
blinking briefly in the moon light
resisting the urge of tiredness
for one last moment of silent wondering
searching the mind for the thought
lost in a sip of comforting chocolate.

Tendrils of dark hair curl against
the smooth linen
and crisp clean fragrances fresh
from dancing on the line
with the autumn breeze
entice and encourage restful slumber.

Battling the need
the weary desire to rest
before the final surrender
as eyes close in slumber.

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
