Pure Love

Celebrating the Birth by Jan Steen

Celebrating the Birth by Jan Steen

This moment of love so long waited for
When all the pain and fear melt into time
A moment when life is simple and pure
The world is silent for his sound to chime
A baby’s cry needs no meter or rhyme
To announce his arrival to his life
The world is silent for his sound to chime
And the cord is cut with a surgeon’s knife
The world is silent for his sound to chime
And a mother’s heart explodes into joy
As if feeling pure love for the first time
As she holds her child, her sweet baby boy
This moment of love so long waited for
A moment when life is simple and pure

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
