Brief Biography: Homer was a landscape painter and printmaker renowned for his marine subjects. He worked as an illustrator for nearly 20 years submitting glimpses of Boston life to Balleu’s Pictorial and Harper’s Weekly. Homer’s paintings are direct and energetic interpretations of the stoic relationship between man and the often neutal or hostile wilderness of nature.
