In the Light of the Moon

The lunar light that teases the night sky
As we linger while time ticks slowly by
Reflected in dark lake waters, the moon
Is looking down from her home way up high
And powders her nose in a lullaby
While in our kiss I hear your gentle sigh
On the beach beside that silent lagoon
For kissing answers the questions of why.
Why love can touch a heart after tears cry
Yes, love, the passion we often deny
Its music is the soul’s signature tune
That echoes deep in a hidden cocoon
But when I see the smile within your eye
And I know love in the light of the moon.

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
