Carmina Animae

The flow of ink that is my blood
Each word then an unopened bud
Waiting to bloom within a verse
Often gentle but sometimes terse
And still words flow to form a flood
My skin the paper, a blank sheet
Where thoughts and dreams combine, compete
To find there its own perfect space
That brings a verse a sense of grace
The poem, a poet’s own self
The soul once left upon the shelf
Thus words and paper, ink and pen
Become me as I write again
And to these words I give myself

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
