The Poet’s Song

The Poet's Song

Texte: Perceiving your own voice means perceiving your true self or nature. When you and the sound become one, you don’t hear the sound; you are the sound – Seung Sahn

A distant echo over time
The single voice that none could hear
The whisper silenced by my fear
A voice which called me out in rhyme
As ink revealed the hidden crime.
Two voices that should speak as one
Yet kept apart and seen by none
Until words flowed from fountain pen
Nothing would silence him again.
His voice I called the poet’s song
A muse upon my lyric verse
As two began to then converse
The heart could know nothing was wrong
And that I was he all along.

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
