A musical march matches the gown
Before promises of wedded bliss
Confetti falls like a gentle down
On the embrace love’s first bridal kiss.
New life held in arms given a name
Innocence before the joy of life
No two futures are ever the same
A mixture of joys, sadness and strife.
Voices singing to candles and cake
A rite of passage in coming of age
Childhood dreams now a favoured keepsake
Going through school to earning a wage
The life cycle turns through all the years
Until living meets with funeral tears

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
