Shamanic Rhythm

Delicate feet dancing on the parched land
Wishful prayers summoned with opening hand
With a soulful voice calling out for rain
As the summer burns the green grass to sand.
Shamanic rite written in rhythmic strain
Calling the divine to free life from pain
While faster feet meet his guttural groan
He dances where only hope can dare remain.
He uses the knowledge that time has shown
Ancient wisdoms his soul has always known
His voice echoing across time and space
To where his spirit ancestors have flown
As his dance ends his feet leave no trace
And the rain falls down with in divine grace.

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
