By My Side

By My Side

The loneliness comes with the fall of night
No comforting hand to ease the pain away
In solitude there is one thing I crave
The softest touch to put the world back right
That brings laughter to the end of the day
While she’s playing at chasing this and that
She’s my tigress: she is fearless and brave
As she dares the night to come into sight
Or daring the moon to come down and play
She’s easy to love but she’ll misbehave
And make her bed out of an old flat hat
With cheekiest purr she cares not a hoot
Yes she is my sweet baby munchkin cat
But in her own mind she is more than cute

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.

  1. She sounds like a real doll and a great companion. 🙂
