Courage

Texte: All good fortune is a gift of the gods, and you don’t win the favor of the ancient gods by being good, but by being bold – Anita Brookner

The courageous heart is ready to face
Life; to stand tall when all is falling down
For gods demand the soul to battle bold
To take the pain that comes in ev’ry frown
And see a smile growing within its place
For living ain’t a journey of the meek
It takes a warrior to remain true
For gods demand the soul to battle bold
Against the odds of life and being you
The war of living is not for the weak
The heart will beat until weary and old
And memories are all that ever stay
As we turn to face yet another day
When gods demand the soul to battle bold

About Jez Farmer

I am a freelance writer and poet and started writing after raising my two boys as a way of discovering just who Jez is. That is still very much an on-going project but the journey so far has introduced me to many wonderful friends and fellow writers through an ever growing love of poetry.
